Drekirokr - Dusk of the Dragon for Mac Installation Review'

As I embarked on my adventure with Drekirokr - Dusk of the Dragon on my mac, I couldn't help but notice a few areas that could use some improvement. Moving around in this game can be a bit clunky at times, especially when you only want to move one square. To alleviate this issue, it would be great if there were safe zones immediately surrounding entrances to towns and caves where enemies cannot attack you.

Another aspect of the game that caught my attention was the frequency with which enemies on the world map trigger battles. While I found myself engaged in combat frequently, I never felt frustrated or overwhelmed by the constant battles. Instead, I enjoyed figuring out how to overcome them at the right pace.

One puzzle that stood out to me as particularly well-done was the torch puzzle in the Hideout cave. The challenge and reward of solving it were incredibly satisfying.

I also appreciated the natural dialogue that helps flesh out the characters and world. It's clear that a lot of thought has gone into crafting these elements, making them feel authentic and immersive.

A feature that I found particularly useful was the diary that automatically displays when you load a save. This added an extra layer of depth to the game, allowing me to keep track of my progress and reflect on my journey so far.

The basic attacks in the game felt like using skills, which helped to keep minor battles interesting. The fact that they change depending on what weapons I had equipped was a nice touch, adding variety to each battle.

One aspect that truly sets Drekirokr apart is its customizations to the menus and battle system. These additions really make the game stand out from others in its genre.

Visually, the game looks great, with beautiful art, animations, maps, and even an extra little intro when you first launch the game. While I suspect that the project may have been abandoned, I wanted to provide this feedback in case the developer ever returns to it.

Despite being a relatively short game so far, it's clear that a lot of time and attention has gone into what is here. With some tweaks to address the areas mentioned above, Drekirokr could be an even more enjoyable experience for players.
